My gluten free weight loss journey week 2

This past week was a real challenge for me.  We had company over last weekend, and I over ate.  We had pasta, one of my most challenging foods.  I took way too much.  I gained back 2 pounds.

Weight loss is a journey, but it can be really discouraging when you gain weight back.  You might be tempted to just say “to hell with it”.  But you shouldn’t give up.  You just need to get back on track.

Until I join weight watchers, I really have no way of tracking what I am eating, as far as points go.  Yes, I could track calories, but I find that really tedious.  So for now, I am trying to improve my eating habits in small ways.  I am mostly focusing on eating fewer simple carbs and more fruit and veggies.

We will be traveling to see family in a couple of weeks, and rather than have to count points while I am there, even though I am bringing my own food, I will wait until we get back.  I am bringing my own food due to my gluten and dairy issues, so it will be relatively easy to watch my intake.

I continue to battle with my sugar demon.  I made a relatively healthy tray of brownies today with zucchini (recipe to follow on another post).  I have never made a dessert with it before.  I am trying to find ways to make my baking healthier.   I don’t think that I can ever give up sweets.

I am hoping that I will lose weight this week, but even if I don’t,  I will try to enjoy the journey to a healthier me.

YES! Enjoy the journey to a healthier you, regardless of what the scale or tape measure says! (Easier said than done, I realize, but ideally, that should be our goal.)
