The return of Ramen

If you’ve ever been a young man or women in out on your own for the first time, you know ramen intimately.

Being past all of that,  I still did love my Cup O Noodles.  Sadly, this was one of the things I had to give up when I went gluten free.

You can pretty much find anything in a gluten free version, but that doesn’t mean you should.  Some of it is pretty nasty.  But I have found a really decent substitute.

I was looking for gluten free lasagna noodles on, and found these by accident:


Rice Ramen?  Hmmm, how good could it be?  These are made from brown rice and millet. Ok, I decided to take the plunge and try these out.

They come four cakes to the package.  The cooking instructions are pretty straight forward:


I had some chicken broth on hand, so after cooking and rinsing the noodles, I heated my chicken broth and added some pre-cooked chicken I had on hand, and some greens.  The result was really good.  These are spot on.


So if you are missing ramen, by all means try these noodles out.  It’s great when you can satisfy a craving for something you really miss.   These really fill the bill.  Kudos to Lotus foods for making these.
