As I posted a couple of weeks ago, I ordered some new products from Gluten free palace. I was amazed at their selection. There are things here I had never heard of, or cannot get anywhere else. My reviews are subjective. You may find differently.
Here is what I ordered and my reviews of the products:
Gefen noodle bowl
Most of us have eaten ramen noodles at some point. They are cheap and pretty good. I was hoping these would remind me of those. They don’t. These are rice noodles, which I have eaten before. If you nuke these in the microwave, the noodles will not get soft enough. Also, they are ridiculously spicy. There is no indication of this in the description. If you added boiling water, these would probably be ok. I don’t care for them.
Katz’s gluten free dinner rolls
Sometimes you just want a dinner roll. Gluten free bread often falls short of expectations. These didn’t. Yes, they are a bit spongy (most gluten free bread is), but they are pretty good. They are topped with sesame seeds. You can nuke these for about 15 seconds-no need to bake. And that is a big plus. I would order these again.
Bobs Red Mill Sweet White Rice Flour
I have mentioned this flour in my blog posts many times. It is a staple in my kitchen. I use it for making sauces, gravy, baking cakes, breading and all sorts of uses. I like the fact that is is pretty finely ground. It is not gritty. I can make a roux out of this flour with no problem at all. I would highly recommend it.
What’s great about this site is the amazing categories of goods available. Teas, baked goods, kosher goods, condiments, toys, beauty items….the list goes on and on. A person could go nuts. I really have to restrain myself. The best part for me is most of the gluten free goods are also dairy free. Yay! Ingredients are clearly listed under each items, as well as allergens.
You should check this site out if you are having a difficult time finding gluten and dairy or egg free items. I have ordered from Amazon, but the problem here is they have a $25 minimum amount to purchase what they call “add on” items. This means you have to buy things you don’t necessarily need or want in order to get what you do want. I do love their prime account-I get free two day shipping on almost everything. Also, a lot of times they sell in bulk. If you are not sure you like something, you don’t want a whole case of it. Gluten free palace gives you the opportunity to try new things.
I am placing another order as we speak. I will write an updated post once I receive and try them.
